New titleholders crowned at Miss Hot Springs competition

HOT SPRINGS – The Miss Hot Springs Scholarship Competition took place Saturday, Nov. 24 at the Mueller Center. Miss South Dakota 2018 Carrie Wintle and Miss South Dakota Outstanding Teen 2018 Jessica Benson were the special guests, entertainers and emcees for the afternoon.

The outgoing titleholders of Amber Hulse, Miss Christmas in the Hills 2018, and Payton Steffensen, Miss Christmas in the Hills Outstanding Teen 2018, were a vital part of choreographing the dance and fitness numbers and also performed.

The newly crowned 2018 titleholders are Miss Hot Springs Kaitlin O’Neill of Aberdeen; Miss Hot Springs Outstanding Teen Cate Berkheimer; Miss Christmas in the Hills Sarah Scott of Brookings; and Miss Christmas in the Hills Outstanding Teen Lauren Whyte of Rapid City. 

Eight Little Sisters ages 5-7 also assisted in the program with a Christmas theme. All the Miss and Outstanding Teen winner will compete for a State title at the Miss South Dakota Competition in Brookings in June.
