The BHC cross country meet held in Custer last week was our last tune up before the Region 5 qualifying meet this week on our home course. On a cooler than normal day for this time of year Adam Consoer again paced the Hot Springs team with a 2nd place finish. Lady Moguls have strong week despite two losses

EDGEMONT – Despite falling in both of their matches last week, Edgemont Lady Moguls head coach Susan Ostenson was pleased with how her team performed in both contests, which went four games versus Hot Springs and five games versus Sioux County, Neb.

“I was happy with the way we played against some good match ups for us last week,” said Coach Ostenson. “Of course I'd rather come away with a W, but it was good to 'be in the game.'”

Lady Bison defeat rival Custer

HOT SPRINGS – The Hot Springs Lady Bison volleyball team decisively defeated its Southern Hills rival Custer last Tuesday night at home in three games by scores of 25-16, 25-13 and then 25-21.

The victory improved Hot Springs' overall season record to 8-16, while Custer fell to 5-20. The two teams however are currently the bottom two in the Region 8A standings.

This week, the Lady Bison travel to Bennett County on Tuesday, and then host Douglas on Thursday.

Cheer & Dance teams compete twice

STURGIS – The Hot Springs Cheer & Dance team competed in two events last week, including one at Rapid City Stevens on Saturday, Sept. 22, as well as one in Sturgis on Tuesday, Sept. 25.

“The team was plagued with injury and illness for both of these competitions,” said head coach Janet Naasz.

Competing against large squad Class “AA” schools including Rapid City Central, Rapid City Stevens, Douglas and Sturgis on Sept. 22, the Hot Springs cheer team placed fifth overall as a 'small squad'...

Bison JV soccer team wins season finale over Belle

BELLE FOURCHE – The Hot Springs Bison soccer team completed its JV season schedule last Tuesday, Sept. 25, with a 4-2 victory on the road versus Belle Fourche, which was a rematch of their Aug. 10 game in Hot Springs which saw the Broncs come away with a 6-3 win.
