BHYFL Playoffs begin

HOT SPRINGS – The Black Hills Youth Football Playoffs begin this weekend, and two Hot Springs Bills teams will be among them, as the Bills' fourth-seeded Junior Pee Wees will play the fifth-seeded Belle Fourche Cardinals at the School of Mines field in Rapid City on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 12 noon.

The Bill's Mighty Mite team also enters the playoffs as the fourth-seed will also play the Belle Fourche Cardinals, beginning at 8 a.m on Saturday, Oct. 27.

Lady Bison drop pair of matches to Chadron, Spearfish

HOT SPRINGS – The Hot Springs Lady Bison competed in a pair of games last week, which saw them fall to Chadron on the road last Monday night in three straight games by scores of 20-25, 7-25 and 12-25. Back at home on Tuesday night versus Spearfish during Senior Night, it was a similar story as the team fell in three games 21-25, 13-25 and 19-25.

Oelrichs volleyball team concludes regular season

OELRICHS – The Oelrichs Lady Tigers finished out their 2018 regular season schedule last week with six games, including a 2-3 loss to Sioux County at home on Tuesday, Oct. 16, followed by a 3-0 win over Takini at home on Thursday, Oct. 18.

Games versus Sioux County finished at 19-25, 25-23, 16-25, 29-27 and then 2-15. Versus Takini, the Lady Tigers won 25-7, 25-10 and 28-26.

Lady Moguls play five road matches

EDGEMONT – The Edgemont Lady Moguls volleyball team competed in five road matches last week, first defeating Custer 3-0 on Monday, Oct. 5, then splitting a double-header in Rapid City on Thursday, Oct. 18 with a 3-1 win over Newell and a 0-3 loss to Rapid City Christian. The girls wrapped up their week on Friday, Oct. 19, with a pair of 1-2 losses versus both New Underwood and Wall.

Hot Springs Competitive Cheer & Dance teams compete at State

BRANDON VALLEY – The Hot Springs Cheer & Dance Team competed at the State Competition in Brandon Valley last Friday, Oct. 19, where they finished in a tie for eighth place in the Small Squad Cheer division, as well as seventh in the Dance-Pom division and sixth in the Dance-Hip Hop division.

Overall amongst all large and small squad teams, Hot Springs was 15th out of 18 teams in Cheer, and eighth out of nine teams in Dance.
