Several colleagues and I just returned from a trip to California. We were part of the Bush Grant whose focus is on transforming schools by allowing students to make more decisions about their learning. How do we make learning more relevant to students? How can we provide more choice in how students show their learning? How do we empower students to understand what success looks like? How do we provide more opportunities for students to learn from each other? These are a few of the questions that the grant and its participants are trying to answer.

Gymnastics Sisterhood

As a senior on the high school gymnastics team, I have experienced many things and created too many memories to count. I have created a sisterhood with the other gymnasts. The amount of things that the sport and the people have taught me are endless. It has taught me resilience, persistence, and confidence--including strength.

The Hot Springs Boys & Girls Wrestling Experience

Around the school, there are posters of adults saying that they wrestle–but what about high schoolers? During this time of the year, wrestling becomes popular, but not enough to get new members. Members of both the girls and boys’ wrestling team share their experience with this intense sport and hope more to join it.
