Patricia “Pat” (Wilsey) Doak of Hot Springs, passed away on September 10, 2018, in Hot Springs.
Pat was born and raised in Vicksburg, Mich. to Leola and Kenneth Wilsey on July 22, 1927. She graduated high school there in 1944. After graduation she was courted by Harold Gillespie, and as they got to know each other they fell in love, he asked her to marry him, she agreed but he would have to wait till she was 21, as that was the age she wanted to be when she got married. Thankfully he waited. They were married for 35 years lacking one month. Together they raised two sons, Steven and Douglas. After her first husband’s death to cancer in 1982, she married Orval Doak. Sadly, he recently passed away suffering with dementia on August 19, 2018. Also, her son Douglas passed away earlier this year on March 31, near his home in Denver, Colo.
Pat delighted in traveling, including taking extensive Bible tours in Israel and other countries. She also attended an International Bible Convention for Jehovah’s Witnesses in Warsaw Poland where she enjoyed meeting other brothers and sisters of like faith and being spiritually fed from God’s word. She loved her God, Jehovah and volunteered her love, time, and resources to help her neighbors know more about him.
Pat enjoyed spending time in her art studio with friends painting the southwest and desert scenes with a glass of wine. The desert would remind her of the times when her and Orval would travel to Arizona and California to sell their turquoise jewelry.
Pat will be deeply missed and remembered for her love of her family, the twinkle in her eyes, warm smiles and hugs, her positive attitude, sense of humor, and deep faith.
She is survived by her son, Steven Gillespie; granddaughters, Brooke Gallegos, Blair Provenzano and grandchildren Tessa, Ben, Jamison, Michael, and Isabella Rose.
She was proceeded in death by her husbands, Harold Gillespie and Orval Doak; and son Douglas Gillespie.
