Edgemont Softball League

We are still trying to organize a league for adult softball.
This league would allow anyone over 14 to play the game, but it can be a family affair.
If some child wants to keep score, umpire, or be ‘bat boy’, they are more than welcome to attend as well.
Right now we are in the organizational stages. Some thoughts are: we will have practices and games around the YMCA practices, everybody that wants to have fun, may, but you have to bring your own equipment, and who we may challenge...

Fall River Democrats held their biennial election last week, electing Karla LaRive, chair; Wayne Piper of Edgemont, vice-chair; Pat Ginsbach, secretary; Mary Burrows, treasurer; Gerald Bloomer, state central committeeman; and Burrows, state central committeewoman.

Commission Votes To Request Valuation Freeze

HOT SPRINGS – The Fall River County Commission voted 4-1 to send an amended letter to S.D. Governor Dennis Daugaard, requesting that the governor declare an emergency and issue an executive order allowing the commission to freeze valuations at the previous year’s valuations.

Lawsuit Arguing Parts of Mickelson Trail Private Dismissed

Attorney General Marty Jackley says a federal court has decided to dismiss a lawsuit from landowners who wanted to declare that parts of the Mickelson Trail in Fall River County are privately owned.
Jackley says local landowners filed a lawsuit last April arguing some parts of the trail that was originally owned by Grand Island Railroad had passed into private ownership. The 109-mile trail in the Black Hills is on a former railroad line and stretches between Deadwood and Edgemont.

Shedco Providing Free Excel Class

Thursday, April 9th, from 1:00-4:00 upstairs at Southern Hills Economic Development Corporation’s new office (old Black Hills Power office) will be a free Excel class!
Donna Leavens with the Small Business Development Center will be teaching basic Excel knowledge and some advanced techniques.
