HOT SPRINGS - Sheriff Bob Evans reported to the Fall River County Commissioners at their meeting on Thursday, Nov. 8 that he has signed a Prisoner Housing Contract for 2019 with the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office to continue housing some prisoners in the Pennington County Jail due to inadequate space in the Fall River Jail. ‘Giving Thanks’ raises $9,000 for Tanners, COTA organization

EDGEMONT – The Giving Thanks Tanner Benefit held this past Saturday, Nov. 10, was a tremendous success, according to Chistina Heisler with the Edgemont Area Chamber of Commerce who co-sponsored the event with the Edgemont YMCA and St. James Catholic Church.

Hot Springs School Board approves changes to Public Participation policy

HOT SPRINGS – The Hot Springs School Board – by a 5 to 1 vote – passed the Second Reading of a change to its policy describing how Public Participation is handled at its monthly board meetings. The action took place at the meeting held Monday, Nov. 12. The lone dissenting vote was from newly appointed board member Lyle Jensen, with all others in attendance voting in favor. Board President Kim Henningsen was not present.

HOT SPRINGS – New traffic regulations approved by the Hot Springs City Council at their Nov. 5 meeting address resident concerns regarding the overnight parking of oversized vehicles within 100 feet of a residence, the storage of equipment like campers on city streets, as well as the city’s ability to remove vehicles that interfere with snow removal.

Edgemont students to present ‘Yard Sale’ as school’s Fall Play on Nov. 15-16

EDGEMONT – Students and staff at Edgemont High School have been busy preparing for their upcoming Fall Play entitled “Yard Sale” by Tim Kelly through Pioneer Drama.

The play will be performed next week in the Edgemont School gymnasium beginning with a matinee for elementary students on Wednesday, Nov. 14, with public performances at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 15-16. Desserts will be available at intermission as a fundraiser for the junior class.
