Children take off as the Easter Bunny gives the ‘go ahead’ following the countdown to start the Hot Springs Area Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt, held this past Saturday on the grounds of the State Veterans Home.
HOT SPRINGS/EDGEMONT— On Saturday April 20, both the Edgemont Area Chamber of Commerce and the Hot Springs Area Chamber of Commerce each hosted their annual community Easter Egg Hunts
Edgemont’s took place at the Edgemont City Park where 50 kids showed up with enthusiasm to hunt over 3,000 Easter Eggs— each kid was able to collect over 60 eggs. Even the Easter Bunny made an appearance.
Hot Springs’ event took place once again on the grounds of the Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home and featured 1,500 eggs, which were gobbled up by well over 100 kids in a matter of moments.
In addition to the Chamber’s egg hunt, the American Legion Riders also hosted several different games afterwards where participants earned prizes.
Last year’s Edgemont Easter Egg Hunt was cancelled due to a late snow storm that hit Edgemont. Weather this year for both Edgemont’s and Hot Springs’ egg hunt was ideal, with sunny skies and dry, warm temperatures.
