Edgemont Lady Moguls Doing Well With Season

On Monday, October 17, the Lady Moguls traveled to Oelrichs to take on the Tigers. The Junior Varsity came ready to continue the success they had against Red Cloud and they didn’t disappoint. The JV defeated the Tigers in two sets: 25-7 and 25-20. Their record improved to 6-6-1.
The Varsity hoped to keep the momentum into their match. The Lady Moguls were successful and defeated the Tigers in three sets: 25-18, 25-11, and 25-12. Their record improved to 9-13.
On Friday, October 21, the Lady Moguls traveled to New Underwood for triangular play with the Tigers and the Wall Eagles. Up first for the Moguls were the New Underwood Tigers. Both teams had something to prove, as the Moguls had defeated the Tigers earlier in the season. The Moguls took a set to warmup, then they were ready to go.
The Lady Moguls defeated the Tigers in four close sets; 25-27, 25-22, 25-15, and 25-22. This improved their record to 10-13.
Then the Lady Moguls took on the Wall Eagles. The Eagles came ready to play. The Lady Moguls improved each set but fell to the Eagles in three sets; 4-25, 9-25, and 15-25. The Moguls ended the night with a record of 10-14.
On Monday, October 24, the Lady Moguls hosted the Pine Ridge Thorpes for their last regular season match and Parent’s Night.
The Junior Varsity started the night with a win over the Thorpes in two sets: 25-16 and 25-20. The JV ended their season with a record of 7-6-1.
After thanking parents and supporters, the Varsity took the court ready to go. The Lady Moguls put up a good fight against the Thorpes and it was an exciting match.
The Lady Moguls fell to the Thorpes in five sets: 23-25, 25-21, 27-25, 22-25, and 12-15. The Moguls ended their regular season with a record of 10-15.
November 1 brought the first round of District 14 play for the Lady Moguls. Look for the report next week.

Maddie Peterson had 23 attacks and 9 kills. Jenna Ostenson had 21 serve attempts and 16 assists. Abby Tidball had 10 serve receives and 6 digs. Avery VanEaton had 9 kills. Joella Moore had 7 ace serves.
Leading the stats for the Lady Moguls during the game against the New Underwood Lady Tigers were:
Abby Tidball had 37 attacks, 18 kills and 10 digs. Avery VanEaton had 17 assists, 4 ace serves and 2 blocks. Maddie Peterson 22 serve receives, 21 serve attempts and 4 ace serves. Jenna Ostenson had 21 serve attempts and 4 ace serves each.
Leading the stats for the Lady Moguls during the game against the Wall Lady Eagles were:
Abby Tidball had 25 serve receives, 16 attacks, 7 digs and 3 kills. Joella Moore had 8 serve attempts and 2 ace serves. Maddie Peterson had 16 attacks. Jenna Ostenson had 3 assists.
Leading the stats for the Lady Moguls during the game against the Lady Pine Ridge Thorpes were:
Abby Tidball had 51 attacks, 21 kills and 12 digs. Maddie Peterson had 30 serve attempts, 6 ace serves and 1 block. Avery VanEaton had 25 serve receives and 17 assists. Lizzie Tidball had 1 block.
