Ronald S. Cleland, age 75, of Lake Havasu City, AZ, formerly of Hot Springs, SD, passed away on March 5, 2018, in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm, at 1605 McCulloch Boulevard South, Lake Havasu City, AZ.
Ronald was born in Vermillion, South Dakota, to Woodrow and Beverly Cleland on March 31, 1942. His family moved to California after WWII, and Ronnie grew up in Bellflower, CA. He was in the Navy for two years, and then went on to earn an associates degree from Long Beach City College in 1964.
Ronald worked for the telephone company in South Dakota for 35 years, specializing in microwave radio service. He and the family had a small hobby farm for several years, raising cows and switchgrass. Ronald also enjoyed hunting and fishing, construction projects, traveling, gold prospecting, and was a camp host for several years with his wife Sue. They enjoyed retirement living in Lake Havasu City.
Ronald is survived by his wife Susan (Phillips) Cleland of Lake Havasu City, his children Kristi Cleland of Lennox, SD, and Scott Cleland of Piedmont, SD, his step children John Keefner of Galena, SD and David Keefner of San Diego, CA, his sisters Janalee Klein of Lakewood, CA, and Rhonda Cleland of Lake Havasu City, AZ and four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Woodrow Cleland and his mother Beverly (Erickson) Cleland.
