Doris Polzine

Doris Jean Polzine, age 93, of Hot Springs, passed away September 12, 2015, at the Seven Sisters Living Center in Hot Springs.
Doris was born in Hot Springs, April 26, 1922, to Ray and Frances (Roe) Pierce. She grew up on the family farm located on Cascade Road, south of Hot Springs. Doris attended Sheps Canyon School for eight years and graduated from Hot Springs High School. She was united in marriage to William Edward Polzine. Her husband was in the United States Marine Corps. They had two children. Doris moved to New Jersey and worked for the Department of Agriculture in Hoboken, NJ. In 1990, after her husband’s death she moved back to Hot Springs.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Carol Webb of Edgemont, SD; son, Raymond Polzine of Hastings, Minn.; brother, Leonard (Sheryl) Pierce of Minneapolis, Minn.; and one grandchild.
Committal services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, June 10, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs with Mark Crossman officiating. Refreshments will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, June 10, at Dale’s Family Restaurant.

Roy Standen

Roy Edward Standen, age 92, of Lincoln, Neb., and formerly of Edgemont, passed away June 3, at the Lancaster Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln.
Roy was born on July 15, 1923, to Glenn and Fern (Taylor) Standen in Edgemont. He served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge. Roy worked on the CB&Q, later Burlington Northern Railroad in Edgemont and Alliance, Neb., as a clerk until he retired in 1979.
He married the love of his life Eulalie Cutrer on February 23,1946, in Pineville, La. They had one daughter, Marcia.
Roy is survived by his daughter, Marcia (Vernon) Rockey of Lincoln, Neb.; four grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, June 11, at Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Hot Springs. Committal services will follow at the Edgemont Cemetery in Edgemont.
Memorials may be made to the memorial of your choice.
