Golden West Customers “Pay it Forward” to Edgemont Area Students

Golden West customers once again displayed their eagerness to help elementary schools during the second annual Pay It Forward campaign. For each new or upgrading customer in March, Golden West pledged $50 to the elementary school in that customer’s community. Thanks to residents in the Edgemont area, Golden West will be donating $200 to Edgemont Elementary.

The school, who was notified of the campaign in February, is receiving the funds with one request - the students decide how to put the money to use. “Our customers gladly paid it forward, inspiring these young minds to positively impact their community,” says Denny Law, Golden West CEO and General Manager. A total of $17,700 was donated to schools across the Golden West service area.

Golden West plans to follow up with the school to find out what the students chose to do with the funds. Law says he is looking forward to what the students decide, having seen the different ways last year’s donations were used. “Last year we saw donations go toward gardens, libraries and playgrounds. I’m excited to see the fun and creative ways the kids pay it forward this year.” Since 1916,
